Jane Commane, the judge and editor of Nine Arches Press adds:
‘Congratulations to our three selected poets, Ben, Cynthia and Marvin – their poems have demonstrated exactly the right blend of excitement, skill and potential. These are poets that are formally adventurous, precise and vivid, but also show a unique and distinctive voice at work; voices that we found hard to resist, and which we believe show enormous promise. We are delighted to be presenting them as this year’s Primers Volume Two poets, and look forward very much to working further with them in the coming months and publishing their poems in April 2017.’
Congratulations to these three writers and to the seven shortlistees (Emma Jeremy, Marjorie Gill, Matthew Dixon, Michelle Penn, Miranda Peake, Paul Adrian, Samuel Prince) and a big thank you to everyone who entered. It’s always a leap of faith to send your poems out into the world.
We look forward to the publication process of Primers Volume 2 – stay in touch to read more about the publication process as it happens.
