Call for Thank You Poems

The Poetry School is about to set our illustrator to work on some new print. We’re going to make thank you cards to send to partners, donors and collaborators who work with us. Our brochures are illustrated by Margaux Carpentier, and her images are always inspired by Poetry School students’ poems.

Have you got, or could you write, a poem on the theme of thanks that we could use on our new cards?

You’d see your work and name out and about in the world, and to say thank you to you, we’d invite you to read at one of our term launch events. We’d also send you a bundle of the cards – an easy route to some free and gorgeous personalised note cards.

Guidelines

The poem needs to be unambiguously about thanks – no subtle, back-handed compliments in this one, please!

The poem needs to fit on a postcard with some room for illustration –maybe 10 long lines for a landscape postcard, or 15 shorter ones for a portrait postcard, or a prose poem.

Please send your poem in the body of an email to Julia Bird ([email protected]) by 30 June.

The copyright of the selected poem will remain with the poet, but the Poetry School will be free to use the poem in print and online.
