This is the second of our ‘In Conversation’ series with Glyn Maxwell which launched with UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage on 8 February. Glyn continues to explore the practice and inspiration of some of the world’s leading writers with acclaimed American poet Linda Gregerson. This series consists of in-depth and unique conversations designed to shed light on some of the most exciting contemporary poetry being produced globally.

Join us virtually for an hour of readings (new work included!), wisdom, laughter, and insight as two of poetry’s most experienced voices reminisce and let you in on the secrets they have learned over the course of their decades at the top of their game. We look forward to seeing you.

Tickets are available upon donation: Please give what you can to attend this fantastic event – all funds from tickets will go towards Poets for Ukraine and their critical work. The Event will be live translated by a BSL Interpreter and is also being recorded, so you will be able to view in your own time after the conversation has aired.


Linda Gregerson Bio

Linda Gregerson’s seventh volume of poetry, Canopy, was published by Ecco/HarperCollins earlier this spring. She is also the author of two critical monographs and numerous essays on early modern English and contemporary American poetry. A Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Chancellor Emerita of the Academy of American Poets, Gregerson is the Caroline Walker Bynum Distinguished University Professor at the University of Michigan, where she directs the Helen Zell Writers’ Program. She divides her time between Ann Arbor, Michigan, and London.


Glyn Maxwell Bio

Glyn Maxwell is a poet, playwright and librettist. His latest book of poems is How The Hell Are You (Picador) which was shortlisted for the T S Eliot Prize. He wrote the popular critical guidebook On Poetry (Oberon), and is currently writing a new English libretto for Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman for Opera UpClose. He is head of studies and teaches at The Poetry School and was the Chair of Judges for the 2021 Eliot Prize.
