CAMPUS-members, how much do you know about the Poetry School’s Bursary Scheme?
It’s a dedicated fund to support low-income students with Poetry School course fees. Students apply to the fund, and we spread the money out as widely as we can. It’s our way of making sure that our courses and workshops – both face to face and online – are open to as many people as possible.
In advance of the start of the new Autumn term, we’re running a short and sweet fundraising campaign to boost the amount of money we have available in our Bursary Scheme. More funds = more students + more opportunities.
To anybody donating £10 or above before the end of the Autumn term, we’ll say thank you by sending you one of our new poetry notebooks. Featuring illustrations by Margaux Carpentier (she illustrated our Autumn brochure as well), they are full of empty pages for your poems-to-be, and there are ten writing prompts on the inside cover to get you started. We’ve only had a limited amount of these printed, so when they’re gone they’re gone! (A few hundred tenners would make a huge difference to our ability to support bursary poets.)
I’m a Checkout Charlie on a disgustingly low income. How can I find out if I qualify for a bit of help to get myself on a Poetry School course?
Hi Clifford. Our Bursary Scheme runs once a term. The application deadline for this term has closed, but when we announce our Spring 2016, you’ll be able to apply here: http://www.poetryschool.com/courses-workshops/bursary-scheme.php
If you’ve never applied before, you have a good chance of getting a discount. Good luck!
