Announcing our Digital Open Day 2016

Impressive announcement klaxon!

Yes, that’s right – don your party capes and matching booties as we’re having another Digital Open Day this 5 May 2016.

In the next couple of weeks we will be throwing off our winter clothes and unveiling our new look web platform, bringing together our two existing sites – thepoetryschool.com and CAMPUS.

To celebrate the launch of our new website, we’re inviting you all – loyal Poetry School poets and those finding us for the first time – to a completely free, and completely online, day of poetry activities, discussion, competitions and prizes.

This year’s Digital Open Day highlights include:

> A live Q&A discussion with Andrew Macmillan, author of the multi-award winning physical. Ask him literally anything!

> A free Poetry Surgery with Julia Bird – drop by in the afternoon and get feedback on one of your poems from our Creative Director.

> Sign up for an Open Workshop with Carcanet poet, Adam Crothers, and learn how to steal like the very best…

> Our ‘24/7’ poetry writing challengehave your poem published on the CAMPUS blog and the chance to win a free large-format, hardbacl copy of The Hollow of the Hand by PJ Harvey and Seamus Murphy (RRP £45)

> A big heaving help-load of new Community Groups to play in.

> Receive a digital welcome pack with ideas and suggestions on how to use CAMPUS, including starting your own writing group.

> And in the evening, get settled for a moderately difficult virtual poetry pub quiz…

> Plus more stuff to be announced, as well as the chance to hang out with Poetry School staff and ask questions

If you’d like to take part in any of these Digital Open Day activities, or would just like general information about the whole day, email me back on this address – [email protected] – to book your place now, or just log in on the day. And if you’re still new to the site and not sure on what CAMPUS is exactly, or how CAMPUS works, just send me an email and I’d be happy to answer any queries you might have.

Whether you’ve already notched up your fourth online course with The Poetry School, or you signed up to CAMPUS and haven’t done anything about it since, we hope you’ll find something to interest you at our Digital Open Day. Most of all, it’s a wonderful chance to meet other poets, so even if you can’t make any of the free programme, please drop by on May 5 and say hello, introduce yourself, maybe even share a poem? We’d love to hear from you.

To find out more about CAMPUS, who we are, what we do and why we do it, our home page is as good a place to start as any: http://campus.poetryschool.com/

See you all on the other side soon!
