Financial Support

Can’t afford the full price of one of our courses? Don’t despair – there are options available.

Email us on [email protected] to pay at one of our concessionary rates, below; apply for a bursary; or to ask any further questions.

CONCESSIONS

Please note: that you will be required to provide proof of eligibility for our concessionary rates. Concessions do not apply to our one-to-one programme.

Students & Low Income – 20% off

If you’re a full or part-time student, or receive Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support, Working Tax Credit, Universal Credit, Council Tax Support, Pension Credit, or Housing Benefit, you are eligible for 20% off our standard course fee.

If you are of pensionable age and whose sole source of income is the state pension, and you are not currently claiming income support of any kind, then we encourage you to apply for a bursary (below).

Under 30 – 30% off

Anyone under 30 years of age is eligible for 30% off. Proof of age (passport, driver’s licence, ID card) is required.

Disabled & Carers – 50% off

Anyone in receipt of Carer’s Allowance, Personal Independence Payments, income-related ESA, Enhanced Universal Credit, Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance is eligible for 50% off.

If you are currently an unpaid carer and not on the Carer’s Register or claiming Carer’s Allowance, we encourage you to apply for a bursary (below).

If you have a disability (for guidance, please see the 2010 Equality Act) but you do not or cannot claim disability benefits, we encourage you to apply for a bursary (below).

TIME-LIMITED DISCOUNTS

From time to time, we also offer one-off and last-minute deals to our newsletter subscribers. Sign up here.

INSTALMENTS AND PAYMENT PLANS

We recognise that paying the full cost of a course upfront can be off-putting for some, so we’re happy to spread the cost of our courses over 3 months. Just email us on [email protected] to arrange a payment plan.

BURSARIES

If you can’t afford the full cost of taking part in Poetry School activities, you can apply for a bursary to cover up to 100% of activity costs. Priority is given to people who have not received financial support from us before.

Our bursary forms have now changed – so instead of downloading a form and emailing it across, all you need to do is fill in the digital form below and click submit:

Spring 2025 Bursary Application Form

Deadline for bursary applications for our Spring 2025 courses is Monday 9 December 2024.
