As guests at last year’s inaugural Poetry in Aldeburgh Festival, the Poetry School hosted residencies, readings and competitions. Ben Rogers, who was our Festival Poet in Residence, describes his highlights here.
We are very pleased to announce that we’ll be back for the 2017 Festival – this time as Headline partners.
Make a diary note for 3-5 November, as that’s when we’ll be in Aldeburgh with an expanded education and event programme devised in creative collaboration with the Festival’s organisers.
If you’re making the trip to Suffolk, we’ll have live activities; and if you’re logging on from a distance, there will be digital delights for you. With activities for tentative beginners agonising over their first sonnet, to opportunities for accomplished poets to work with our esteemed alumni and tutors, we’ll aim to provide something for all Festival-lovers.
The Poetry School was founded in 1997, and 2017 sees us celebrating our 20th Anniversary with the tutors, friends and students who help our creative community flourish. From readings and residencies to workshops and wild cards, we will bring to Aldeburgh the best of two decades’ experience helping bring poems to life.
Keep an eye out for more details and opportunities to get involved as 2017 unfurls .
