Clarity & Vision: Advanced Poetry Workshop with Richard Price

Clarity & Vision: Advanced Poetry Workshop with Richard Price

Join this group for close discussion of your writing with acclaimed poet, Richard Price.

* This course will take place on the video-conferencing platform ZOOM *

This course welcomes poets from right across the range of writing, encouraging those from different traditions to learn from each other as the editing process unfolds. Led by the award-winning Richard Price the focus here is on re-drafting to improve the clarity of a poem and bring it closer to the poet’s original vision. This is achieved within a supportive environment where discussion of technical aspects sits alongside new contexts introduced to enrich the poet’s understanding of their craft and develop further.

10 weekly Zoom sessions on Fridays, 11am–1pm (BST), starts 10 October 2025. Please note: Entry to this course is by application only. If you would like to join, please send a submission of three poems to [email protected].

He is the author of the acclaimed Lucky Day and the prize-winning Small World. Moon for Sale was a Guardian Book of the Year. His recent collections are Tinderness, about dating apps and the world of new connections, and Late Gifts, a sequence that explores the contemporary scene with surprise and pathos. (Carcanet, 2023).

"This was a very good workshop in many ways. I really appreciated the quality of everyone's work as well as the quality of everyone's feedback; the feedback in particular from some of my fellow students was excellent and very helpful. Richard is a fine teacher, structures the workshop well and clearly cares about everyone's work."
